The Britain Israel Communications and Research Centre is seeking to appoint a Senior Press Officer.
This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the Communications activities of an organisation with a reputation for producing high quality research and analysis about Israel and the Middle East. The job will appeal to a communications professional with at least 2 years’ experience who enjoys working on high-profile issues and has a good knowledge of Israel and the Middle East, as well as good experience working with the UK media – particularly foreign affairs, defence, security correspondents and comment editors. The post requires excellent news judgement and an understanding of UK and Israeli politics. Candidates should be adept at dealing with immediate issues in a fast-paced news environment as well as able to contribute to longer term strategic planning.
Working closely with the Head of Communications and colleagues you will develop integrated communications campaigns, produce communications plans, respond to news stories and create stories to deliver BICOM’s strategic objectives.
You will have excellent written and verbal briefing skills, good experience producing material in response to fast-moving breaking news and creating compelling news stories and writing, and editing content such as op-eds, tweets and blogs. Knowledge of CMS and social media platforms is essential.
This is an exciting role which involves working in a demanding environment with the likelihood of weekend and out-of-hours work.
This post will report to BICOM’s Head of Communications.
