Due to recent growth and success we are looking for a principal software engineer to develop and maintain a multi-platform software package for medical image registration. The software will be developed for both CPU and GPU technologies. The successful candidate will interface with the algorithm developers and the end users as well as writing user documentation and training materials which forms a vital aspect of this role.
This post is available for 24 months in the first instance and is funded by the NIHR BRC.
Key Requirements:
The successful candidate will have a minimum 2:1 honours degree in computer science, engineering, physics, mathematics or a related subject as well as, a PhD or equivalent industrial experience in scientific computing including numerical optimisation.
Applicants should have a high level of proficiency in programming including skills in CUDA, OpenGL and C++ and a knowledge of software version control packages such as SVN or GiT.
To be eligible for the grade 8 post applicants must have a good publication record in peer reviewed publications, significant experience in the field and demonstrate experience of leading a team of research staff and students.
