Reporting to the senior store designer, you will have the opportunity to work with and guide a well-established team. You will work on upgrades and new stores for our smaller sites to our high profile flagship stores across the UK and international markets.
You will need strong technical skills and a good creative eye with experience within retail design. You will also be responsible for maintaining drawing standards and communications both internally and to external agencies and contractors.
It is important that you have a good all round knowledge of store design and store construction. Vectorworks knowledge is essential and good visualising skills are advantageous, with experience on Cinema 4D and Photoshop a bonus.
Key duties will include:
working with the senior designer in creating drawing standards and guides and being responsible for the drawing system and communication
producing schematic layout proposals as per brand requirement
producing technical design intent detail packs to professional standard for approvals and design delivery
producing 3D visuals for internal discussion
mentoring, developing and overseeing CAD technicians
assisting with delivery of design communication in line with shop-fitting programme
ensuring documentation and general housekeeping is managed by CAD team
assisting with the planning strategy and structure for delivering design communication and maintaining document quality
maintaining and managing current shop-fitting design details
produce property feasibilities plans
Ideal candidates should possess the following:
similar retail design experience within in-house or agency background (must). Would consider someone at senior CAD technician level looking to step up to the next level
strong understanding of retail and the technical/construction side
knowledge of Vectorworks (essential)
knowledge of Cinema4D and Photoshop would be advantageous
design experience within a fashion retail environment would be advantageous
good drawing and IT skills
ability to manage own workload, plan and prioritise work under pressure to meet deadlines
