Studio Manger – Urban Salon Architects – London, United Kingdom

We are looking for an experienced studio manager to look after and help us grow our friendly and busy London-based practice. Our work and clients are varied and so is daily life in this role. Current projects include designing master planning, houses for Peabody, a new museum and art gallery in St Albans and a new range of door handles for Allgood.

The role is an exciting opportunity offering room for individuals to grow with the practice and to develop their management experience and skills.

Potential candidates will be able to fulfil the role in their own way and so should be self-reliant with exceptional organisational skills. They should have a personality that is confident, enthusiastic and enjoy working as part of a team. The studio manager will work with the whole team, our clients and collaborators. The studio manager will report to Alex Mowat, director and founder.

Responsibilities will include:

ensuring the smooth running of the studio through developing and implementing studio policies and procedures
managing our accountants, the book keeper, our IT consultants and other suppliers
issuing proposals, fee proposals and invoices
developing and implementing a marketing and sales strategy to help boost the practice’s profile and grow the business. This will include updating the website, drafting press releases and newsletters and developing tender submissions
working with the team to check our work is always at its best and error-free

The successful candidate will:

have excellent English and communication skills, both written and spoken
be fully proficient in Microsoft Word, InDesign and Excel. Knowledge of Photoshop would be beneficial
pay meticulous attention to detail
be highly organised and have a good work ethic
have the ability of working on their own initiative and as part of a team
care about how people use architecture and design

Above all, we are looking for the right personality to join our team. We can flex working hours for the right candidate. Ideally, we are looking for someone to join us either for four full days or five shorter days a week. There will be a three-month’s probation period.
