We are seeking to appoint an excellent Teacher of Business Studies and Economics, starting in September, to deliver outstanding lessons at both Key Stage 4 and 5. You will have a confident understanding of the curriculum and the ability to create exciting and innovative resources that challenge and inspire our students.
Year on year, the Business Studies department achieves among the highest results in the school. In 2014, 84% of students achieved an A*- C grade at GCSE and 100% on BTEC. Student outcomes at A Level are always encouraging and improving.
There is a possibility of a TLR for the right candidate, with whole school responsibility for potential high achievers or our disadvantaged students. These are important roles and give opportunity for strong career development.
The school has a developed provision with academic express streams, a strong house system and aim higher programmes. All students take part in enrichment activities and there are many opportunities for student trips and events. The school offers a two week October half term. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a school that focuses relentlessly on raising standards and invests in the development of both staff and students. Ofsted judged the school as ‘Good’ in October 2012 and we are determined to be judged ‘Outstanding’ out our next inspection.
For an informal discussion about the post, please call Paul Cuthbert, Vice Principal, on 07545 696376 or apply in writing to Mrs L Walker, Acting Principal.
