The Grocer is looking for a brilliant web editor to spearhead our continued digital expansion.

We’ve invested heavily in thegrocer.co.uk in the past few years to grow traffic and improve the customer experience, and we’re particularly proud of the fact that the award-winning website is now more highly rated than the magazine itself.

You will be:
A team player, who can engage with a large news desk, as well as subs, art & photo and our digital marketing and web support staff.
An experienced multi-media journalist, with fast and strong writing, editing and A/V skills.
A thorough understanding of SEO, Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook.
The ability to manipulate CMS and to develop new media channels and platforms.
Organised, intelligent, ambitious, and with a strong work ethic.
Knowledge of retail, food and drink, and the world of fmcg is a bonus, but not essential.

The Grocer is one of the UK’s biggest, most influential and most interesting business media publications, the bible of the £180bn grocery retail market, and the flagship title of the highly successful William Reed group, a fast-growing, family-owned publishing, events and market research business, whose interests include operations in the UK, France and the US.

We’re based in newly refurbished offices near Gatwick, with its fast connections to London, Brighton and the world (recent trips have included Italy, Thailand, Ireland, Singapore and New York).
Tackling this hugely important, dynamic, fast-changing and high-profile market with passion and creativity, The Grocer sets incredibly high standards, and has won a number of awards in recent years. It’s a high pressure environment, with daily and weekly deadlines, but for the right candidate, it offers huge job satisfaction, a strong career path, a competitive salary, as well as company benefits comprising:
