Southmead Primary School
is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced teaching assistant to support a child in KS2. We are looking for a motivated team player who has experience of working with children with social/emotional needs. A positive, calm and encouraging attitude along with clear and consistent boundary setting is essential, as is kindness, patience and an ability to use your initiative. We are looking for applicants who are dedicated to making a difference to children’s lives and to ensure every child has the opportunities they deserve. You will be working alongside an experienced and supportive team and there will be ongoing opportunities for training.
This post
is on a fixed term contract attached to the pupil’s SEND funding and the continued attendance of the pupil at Southmead Primary School and their need for support.
We are looking for someone with the following essential qualities:
– Experience of working with a child with social, emotional and mental health needs
– Experience of setting clear and consistent boundaries
– Evidence of building nurturing relationships
– An ability to work within a team
– GCSE Grade C or above, or equivalent, in English and Maths
The following qualities are desirable, but not essential:
– Experience of a using a range of strategies to manage behaviours that challenge
– Knowledge of the KS2 curriculum
– Experience delivering 1-1 and/or small group sessions in reading, writing and maths
– Experience of record keeping and target setting
