Academy Education Officer – Colchester United Football Club

Job Description
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a part-time Academy Education Officer 2 days per week within the Club’s Academy. The Academy is a Category 2 Academy with the emphasis on a player centred approach to teaching and learning.

Working with the Head of Education, the role of the Academy Education Officer will be responsible for the delivery/facilitation for learning for all players within Key stage 3 and 4, the coordination and development of the School Release Programme and supporting the wider educational curriculum of the Academy.

Responsibilities will include:
– Working with parents and schools to ensure all formal protocols are followed.
– To coordinate, monitor, record & review the player’s progress with key stage 3&4 programme via 12 weekly reviews and updating of players Blue planners.
– Assist with the support of scholar’s progress on the BTEC courses, when required.
– Provide pastoral support to all applicable Academy players.
– Create positive relationships with education providers and establishments.
– To assist the Head of Education with visits to Schoolboy player’s schools.

The type of experience we are looking for:
– Experience of working in education.
– A recognised teacher training qualification (QTS, QTLS)
– Assessing competence in the work environment qualification.
– Experience of working within a Professional Football clubs Academy Programme.
– An awareness of equality issues and child protection
– An understanding of maintaining a teaching and learning environment
– An understanding of core subjects at Ks3&Ks4

This is a sessional post which is subject to funding and will run until 22nd April 2017
Hours of work
Tuesdays 08:30-16:30
Thursday 08:30-16:30
Rate: £75.00 per day
