Job Description

An opportunity has arisen to join the Academy Coaching department at Scunthorpe United Football Club.
We are seeking a sessional goalkeeping coach, who can develop our goalkeeping programme and provide our Academy goalkeepers with expert tuition and on-going support.

There will be the opportunity to work in our Foundation Phase with goalkeepers from age 6 to 11, the Youth Development Phase 12-16 and the Professional Development Phase 17-18.

This position will be remunerated on a sessional basis and candidates will be required to work during the day time (a minimum of 3 mornings a week) with the professional development phase goalkeepers, two evenings a week with the foundation and youth development phase goalkeepers and at weekends in each phase delivering match preparation and developing and analysing goalkeeper performance.

The successful applicant is expected to plan and evaluate all coaching sessions and will be required to upload the information onto the player’s individual performance clock and deliver written player performance reviews every 6/12 weeks in line with ISO audit requirements.

The candidate will be required to have a good knowledge of the game through their own previous playing experience at professional or semi-professional level. It is also preferable to have previous experience of coaching at Academy level and a good understand of the requirements and implications of the Elite Player Performance Plan.

All applicants under the EPPP guidelines must hold or be working towards the following mandatory qualifications:
Essential:
• UEFA B Goalkeeping Licence
(or you are working towards this qualification as you currently hold the UEFA ‘C’/Level 2 Goalkeeper licence)
• UEFA C Goalkeeping licence
• UEFA B Licence for coaching outfield players
• Full UK Driving Licence
• Computer literate

Desired:
• FA Youth Award modules 1, 2, 3 (or you are currently working your way through these qualifications)
• Experience working within a professional club’s Academy
• FA Basic First Aid for Sport (BFAS) or Emergency Aid certificate
• FA Safeguarding Children certificate
• Current member of the FA Licensed Coaches Club
• Enhanced CRB/DBS disclosure.
