Earn an apprentice salary whilst undertaking a sports specific NVQ Level 2 or 3 – with great progression possible! Also require 3 NGB coaching level 1 qualifications and 2 NGB coaching level 2 qualifications.

Some of our previous apprentices are now working on becoming qualified PE teachers, some are working full time delivering PE in schools and others are now Head Coaches running their own areas.

Several fantastic opportunities are currently available to earn while you work towards a recognised qualification. You will also gain invaluable experience as your placement will involve working in a School full time, assisting with PE lessons as well as delivering extra-curricular activities, small group sessions and training school sports teams. Immediate start.

    LOCATION:

• Buntingford
• Puckeridge
• Cheshunt
• Stevenage
• Welwyn Garden City

    KEY TASKS:
• 20 – 30 hours a week, Salary = Competitive plus benefits
• To ensure the delivery of high quality coaching sessions.
• To prepare and plan effective teaching and learning.
• Leading and delivering high quality coaching and activity sessions as required.
• To follow current good practice with regard to health and safety – risk assessment etc.
• To maintain good practice regarding all aspects of child protection including updated safeguarding certification.
• Helping and supporting new coaches and instructors.
• To contribute to holiday course planning, organisation and delivery.

    REQUIREMENTS:
• A passion for a wide range of sports.
• Experience working with children is desirable.
• Some previous coaching experience, with coaching qualifications being a bonus.
• Hardworking, punctual, reliable and happy to commit for 12 months to an apprentice role whilst you learn and develop your coaching.
• Full UK driving license

Please Note: All employees of Sports Xtra will be required to hold a clear Enhanced DBS.

    INTERVIEW PROCESS:
