COMMUNITY SPORT & RECREATION MANAGER
£37,483 – £40,217
Rugby is proud of its sporting heritage and we work hard to increase participation evidenced by our recent investment in a new leisure centre, which has exceeded all our expectations. We are looking for an experienced sport and leisure professional who can head up a vibrant and innovative sport and recreation team. The range of activities delivered by the team includes a play ranger service, On Track a social inclusion project which works in schools and youth clubs, SMART summer holiday programme and walking for health to name but a few.
The successful candidate will also manage the client function of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Centre and oversee the running of the Benn Hall, a conference and entertainment venue as well as providing our corporate lead on matters of safeguarding. The council has recently been commissioned to deliver a Family Weight Management Project across Warwickshire and the Sport and Recreation Manager will be responsible for overseeing delivery of this new contract. You’ll certainly never be bored in this job.
You will be able to demonstrate a good track record of attracting external funding and be passionate about the contribution that sport and physical activity can make to healthy lifestyles. You’ll have a clear vision for sport, recreation and public health in a local authority context and you know how to get us there.
