International publications and exhibitions company UKIP Media & Events is looking for a talented and enthusiastic deputy editor for 12 months’ maternity cover, working across three market-leading B2B magazine titles for the transport industry.
The role requires a disciplined all-rounder. They must be confident and organised enough to liaise with multiple clients to produce sparkling advertorial copy, and also creative enough to contribute editorial ideas, write features and knock commissioned freelancer copy into shape. Over and above all this must be an enthusiasm for both print and web journalism. There is likely to be some international travel and a requirement to attend industry events.
Lead publication Traffic Technology International is currently enjoying its 22nd year as the most widely distributed title for the intelligent transportation systems (ITS) industry, with a most-recent ABC of 17,408. Sister publication Tolltrans serves the global tolling industry, and Intertraffic World is distributed at Intertraffic expos around the world. It is a very exciting time for the entire sector as driverless cars, connected vehicles and smart journey planners begin to revolutionise all aspects of transport.
The role is most likely to suit a journalist with at least 1-2 years’ experience and proven organisational skills. Candidates must be proficient in the use of InDesign. Direct interest in the transport industry is welcomed but not essential. Salary commensurate with ability and experience.
