An outstanding individual is required for the Deputy Headship of Brighton. Three previous deputy heads have achieved Headships in the past five years. The precise nature of the post will be shaped by the interests and expertise of the candidate but will, while reporting directly to the Head, include responsibility for: liaison with our international schools and the London Academy of Excellence; curricular and co-curricular innovation; and academic oversight of the campus re-development programme. It represents a terrific opportunity for an aspiring Head.
Brighton is a leading academic school for boys and girls, with an enviable reputation for scholarship, music and sport. Numbers in the senior school have risen from 700 to 1,100 since 2007 and applications have trebled. The college was ranked 6th in the latest Sunday Times UK academic rankings, up from 147th in 2007. Overall, the college educates 2,280 pupils in Sussex and a further 2,075 overseas.
A £100 million redevelopment of the campus is under way, with six new buildings opened in the last seven years.
The College was named UK School of the Year 2013-14 at the Independent Schools Awards, in addition to other recent awards: Sunday Times School of the Year and Tatler Headmaster of the Year.
An application form and a letter outlining your suitability for this post together with a current CV should be completed as soon as possible but no later than Wednesday 6th January 2016.
