Rugby Free Secondary School (RFSS) is an 11-19 free school which will open in September 2016. The school has appointed an inspirational Headteacher and has already proved very popular with parents. RFSS benefits from the backing of a highly supportive local authority and the local MP who both supported the establishment of Rugby Free Primary School which opened successfully in September 2015.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an outstanding teacher and leader to be involved from the outset in the creation of a new school and the establishment of a new department. Initially you will work alongside the Headteacher, forming the embryonic Senior Leadership Team. You will be involved in embedding the vision and ethos of the school. You will lead staff to ensure the development of an innovative curriculum, world class pedagogy and strategies to ensure that all students are motivated and achieve results which exceed their aspirational expectations.
You will lead on the successful implementation of our STEMM approach. Your passion will shine through, your communication skills will be exceptional and you will bring a wealth of ideas to establish the foundations of this aspect of the schools provision.
You will already be, or have been, an outstanding leader of either Maths or Science, and will have had significant and successful experience of whole school leadership at a senior level. You will be able to demonstrate how you have had a significantly positive impact on pupil outcomes. You will be an outstanding practitioner with a mastery of your subject matched only by your passion for raising attainment and ability to inspire excellence in students and colleagues.
This post will provide a once in a career opportunity for the right candidate and will provide the perfect platform for a future move to headship.
You will be supported at every stage by a focused Academy Trust that brings experience in opening a number of successful free schools.
