Job Description
Responsible for: The co-ordination and planning of identified player’s educational requirements as relevant to their age and needs during their time within the Gloucester Rugby Performance Pathway
Hours are very flexible and dependent on individual, but will no more than a day or less per week.
Main tasks & activities:
• To provide educational support (bespoke revision programmes, one to one mentoring and monitoring, for students aged 16 – senior players on a regular basis.
• To implement and maintain accurate educational records for all players within the Academy.
• To attend assessment meetings when requested by the Head of Academy.
• To implement bespoke educational support programmes with designated players.
• Co-ordinate International Baccalaureate, AS/A2 Levels & BTEC programmes to create harmony between their rugby and their education.
• Assist players with UCAS applications, preparing Personal Statements to meet UCAS deadlines.
• Monitor player’s revision timetables (AS/A2) and upgrading possibilities for BTEC.
• Maintain an accurate education plan for all players with agreed targets to be met.
• To liaise with the Head of Academy on relevant player welfare issues.
• To undertake parent/guardian education seminars at DPP level. In doing being a source of advice & support to parents.
• To work in collaboration with the officials from the RPA who further support the Gloucester Rugby
How to apply
The role would ideally suit someone who is close to or retired with an education background and a keen interest in youth development from a holistic perspective.
