Education Officer – The Bristol Sport Foundation – England

The Role:
Job Title: Education Officer
Report to: Education Lead
Location: Office based at Ashton Gate Stadium; however, delivery will be in primary schools throughout Greater Bristol and Bath and North East Somerset.
Contract: A fixed term contract running from January 3rd, 2023, until August 31st, 2024, with a view to extending the contract dependent on performance and funding. A term 4 start will be considered if candidates need to give a full term’s notice to their current school.

Requirements:
The right to work in the UK and a full valid UK driving license and access to a car.
Purpose: The premise of our sports education programmes is that linking sport and education can provide an impactful environment for children to learn, whilst being active and having fun. BSF wishes to appoint an Education Officer to support the delivery of its sports education programmes of Forever Sport, the foundation’s over-arching primary school PE and sports coaching programme. This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified teacher or experienced teaching assistant who shares our passion for the life changing role of sport, physical activity and healthy lifestyle choices.

Responsibilities:
• Delivery of the classroom elements of Health Squad, Sums and Scrums, Active Maths and Read the Game.
• 1-1 pupil support through our Elevate Mentoring programme.
• To help create and nurture learning environments that are welcoming, fun, and inclusive and in which the pupils feel comfortable contributing their ideas and feelings.
• To support the Education Lead with evolution and improvement of the sports education programmes.
• To deliver high quality child-centred sports coaching; maximising enjoyment, participation, and pupil progress. All lessons and clubs are to be caring, active, purposeful, enjoyable, and safe.
• To undertake the necessary planning for each session to ensure that their delivery is outstanding.
• To identify and communicate case studies that demonstrate the positive impact of BSF’s work.
• To implement appropriate health and safety policies and procedures in line with BSF guidelines, national governing body guidelines and each school’s own policies.
• To continually monitor and evaluate all sessions, activities, and relationships with the ultimate vision of improving the quality, impact, and reputation of BSF and the Forever Sport programme.
Working hours: Full-time – 37.5 hours. Normal working days will be Monday-Friday from 9am until 5pm with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break.
