The role of Geography Consultant/Lead Practitioner is an exciting post providing enormous scope for a talented and creative Geographer. We seek an outstanding practitioner who has a successful track record of raising achievement in Geography in order to promote the highest standards for this key subject across the 20 secondary academies in the Harris Federation.
The role will be multi-faceted and involve coaching and mentoring, leading Geography Subject Leaders across the group to further improvement, curriculum design, sharing what works, developing improvement strategies, assisting Harris Academies in recruitment and selection, helping to establish new departments or assisting departments induct new joiners.
You will work alongside our existing Geography Consultant. The Federation operates twin Teaching Schools as well as a number of very successful CPD networks.
The post holder will have the opportunity to play a key role in this wider work. There will be many opportunities for future progression either in this role or subsequently in a leadership position within one of our Academies.
You will be an excellent teacher with a deep passion for Geography. You will possess management experience (ideally but not necessarily at Head of Department level or alternatively be an aspirant Leading Practitioner).
Although based at the Harris Federation offices next to East Croydon Station (with fast access to central London and the M25) the role will mostly be mostly based at our Academies.
For a confidential discussion about the post, telephone Sir Dan Moynihan on 0208 253 7777.
