Head of Modern Foreign Languages – Richard Hale School – Hertfordshire

(TLR Payment of £7,000 – £9,000 depending on experience)

Due to the existing Head of Department moving onto Assistant Headship, we are seeking to appoint an outstanding and dynamic individual to lead the Modern Foreign Languages department into the next phase of its development. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced linguist to further develop the success of a team of hard-working, well-qualified French and German teachers who pride themselves on their reputation for producing engaging and stimulating lessons. Exchange links are well established for both languages, as is the employment of Foreign Language Assistants to support students in all three Key Stages.

Richard Hale is currently in the top 100 non-selective state funded schools in England both for achievement and for progress at GCSE. Located in the centre of the county town of Hertford, it is an oversubscribed, 11-18 boys’ school with an expanding co-educational Sixth Form. It has an impressive reputation for achievement both academically and in a wide range of extra-curricular activities.

The school is committed to safeguarding children and young people. All postholders are subject to a satisfactory enhanced DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service).

Please contact Karen Dart, PA to the Headmaster, (karen.dart@richardhale.co.uk) for an application pack. The application form, together with a personal statement, on no more than two sides of A4, outlining the skills and abilities you could bring to the post, should be emailed to Karen Dart.
Closing date for applications is Friday 17th April 2015 and shortlisting will take place during week commencing the 20th April 2015.
