Set the direction for a school that’s really going places.
Queen’s Park Primary is a school that is going places. Following our last inspection three years ago, we’ve progressed from “improving” to “good”, with a number of exceptional teachers and some impressive results. But that’s just the beginning: now we need a visionary Headteacher who can build on our achievements and make us “outstanding”.
You’ll be working with dedicated teaching staff, a strong Senior Management Team and a committed and supportive Board of Governors, so all the foundations are in place. However, you can expect some significant challenges: we are at the heart of a ward that’s among the top ten in England and Wales for child poverty. 59% of our children qualify for Pupil Premium and nearly 20% have Special Needs.
Things are changing fast, both for us and the community we serve: Queen’s Park is now home to the first urban parish council. In Reception, we have seen children beginning to attend Forest School, whilst Music Masters have allowed pupils access to musical instruments and given them a new interest in life. We’ve also managed to keep our class sizes relatively small and our Deputy Headteacher has worked closely with Year 6 to help them achieve excellent results in their end of year exams.
Now we need you to take things to the next level. Forging productive partnerships with pupils, colleagues and the broader community, you will create a collaborative and inclusive learning environment where children can realise their full potential and set clear life goals. Above all, you will bring together a diverse school population, provide stability and deliver an ambitious strategy that enthuses and excites us all and creates a better future for everyone.
An inspired and inspiring leader, you will bring extensive Primary teaching experience, preferably spanning Foundation, Key Stage One and Key Stage Two. You will certainly possess a postgraduate qualification and QTS, and you will be a proven manager with a demonstrable record of maximising budgets and improving teachers’ progress and achievements. In short, you will be determined to make all the difference for your colleagues and our children – and you will be ready to do whatever it takes to build on our achievements.
