St Margaret’s Church of England Junior School is a very successful, larger than average Junior School located in a pleasant, established and thriving community of Rainham in Kent. We have a close partnership with our local schools, including our infant feeder school, which is located on the same site. The school has 360 children on roll across key stage 2. We are in our second year since our Ofsted inspection where our ‘good’ judgement was sustained and our capacity to become an ‘outstanding’ school acknowledged. We very recently retained our ‘outstanding’ judgement by the Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools (SIAMS).
Due to the pending retirement of our long standing, well respected and successful head teacher, this post is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and passionate leader seeking a new challenge. He/she will continue to take the school forward to outstanding, and will lead the promotion of its strategic vision and values. One important aspect of our strategic vision, about to be realised, is the founding membership of the Medway Anglican Schools Trust (MAST), working collaboratively to provide outstanding education and practice for all members of our school communities. The trust is on course to be active at the point of appointment.
The governors are seeking to appoint a head teacher who:
Has a proven track record of strategic, inspirational leadership, ideally with a record of successfully managing through change
Has outstanding leadership qualities including interpersonal, communication and organisational skills
Is willing to work with a dedicated, professional, and motivated team of Governors who have high expectations in continuing to develop school strategies.
Sustains high expectations thus driving up standards that deliver a broad, balanced, inclusive, and creative curriculum, enabling every child to achieve their true potential
Can inspire, empower, nurture and challenge staff, children and the wider school community, thus engendering lifelong learners.
Will lead continued promotion of our exceptional Christian ethos and values which underpin our developmental journey.
In return we can offer:
A happy, secure and caring environment in which aspiration and achievement are promoted to all within our community bounded by faith and friendship.
A welcoming, highly professional and cohesive team of staff, and a collaborative strong senior leadership team, all who are enthusiastic, innovative and inspirational.
Exceptional educational facilities that support every child within a stimulating learning environment
Opportunities to work collaboratively with Gillingham South Consortium, Medway Anglican School Heads and forge new relationships within the school led system
The challenge of continuing to raise our high standards within a community of high Pupil Premium and SEND needs compared to other schools both locally and nationally.
Commitment to your ongoing professional development both within the school and MAST
