Headteacher – St Mary’s Church of England Primary School – Richmond upon Thames

St Mary’s Church of England Primary School has been at the heart of the Twickenham community since 1645. Today, we are a vibrant three form entry voluntary aided school with 634 pupils spread across three separate sites in the attractive riverside town.

We are looking for an inspiring and energetic Headteacher who will lead, nurture and develop our children and staff, build on the school’s outstanding reputation and guide St Mary’s into the next exciting chapter of its history with the right balance of autonomy and collaboration.

We are a cheerful, hardworking and high achieving school with a distinct and compassionate Christian ethos. We have a strong culture of inclusion, courtesy and mutual respect coupled with a genuine sense of fun. Our extraordinary teachers have an unwavering commitment to help each and every child to reach their full potential; they have worked tirelessly to enable the school to evolve and expand in recent years. They are fully supported in their efforts by engaged and enthusiastic parents, and the school is overseen by an effective and dedicated governing body.

Our governors are hoping for a Headteacher who will:

actively support and live the school’s Christian values while also cherishing the diversity of the whole school and its place in the wider community
build on and further the school’s exceptionally high standards of achievement and behaviour for every child, regardless of ability.

Our pupils and their parents are hoping for a Headteacher who will:

inspire them, inspire their love of learning and act as a role model for the school’s Christian ethos while providing continuity to St Mary’s happy, calm and purposeful culture
encourage and celebrate their creativity and help them to develop a confidence and sense of self worth that will equip them for the challenges of adult life.

Our teachers, teaching assistants and support staff are looking for a leader who will:

inspire confidence and nurture a sense of cohesion and unity reinforcing our vision of one school across three sites
empower and encourage them, motivating and mentoring the next generation of leaders for the school.

Early applications are welcome, and visits to the school positively encouraged. To request an application pack or book a school visit please contact Kate Nepstad, Clerk to the Governors.
