Headteacher – The Loddon School – Hampshire

The Board of Trustees seek to appoint an innovative, visionary and transformative Headteacher to lead this 52 week establishment that is both home and school to 28 children and young people aged 8-19 years who have the most severe and complex learning difficulties and autism. Many have additional challenges such as epilepsy, aggression, self-injurious or restrictive behaviour. The school does not have classrooms, as our children will not learn this way, instead we incorporate learning into activities. Loddon School has a philosophy of Positive Behaviour Support and all staff are committed to PROACT-SCIPr-UK, which was developed here.

Ofsted judged Loddon ‘Good in all areas’ in July 2015.

The successful candidate will live and breathe special education and have:-

the ability to drive forward school improvement and student outcomes
the capacity to lead by example and extend empowerment to all in the establishment
astute and strategic business acumen
excellent staff and change management skills
understanding of the importance of strong leadership
the qualities and experience to inspire a large compliment of staff in a school that brims with exciting potential.
