Job Description
Purpose: To be responsible for the development and implementation of the Academy’s Sports Science & Medicine plan in line with the Club’s overall strategy for developing elite players in line with the EPPP.
Focus will primarily be on the development of the following areas of support;
• Medical services – including prevention strategies and treatment of injury.
• Hydrotherapy / sports massage.
• Individualised strength and conditioning programmes.
• Diet and nutrition strategies.
• Sports science support; including physiology (heart rate / monitoring of training load), bio-mechanics, anthropometric testing and measurements.
• Performance Analysis.
• Implementation of sport psychology support.
• Overall delivery of targets and the running of Luton Town Football Club 2020 Ltd (LTFC), with particular focus on the fitness of LTFC playing staff.
Qualifications Essential
BA Hons Degree in Physiotherapy HPC / CSP Chartered Physiotherapist Full Driving License (mini bus license desirable)
Qualifications Desirable
UKSCA strength and conditioning accreditation.
Skills and Experience:
The successful candidate will meet the minimum qualification requirements and will have experience of delivering treatments and rehabilitative programmes to young players associated with an Academy programme of excellence. The successful candidate must be hard working, committed, enthusiastic and willing to work unsociable hours that include evenings and weekends. They will possess strong communication and excellent IT skills and have the ability to liaise with all levels of personnel associated with a professional Football Club.
The successful candidate will have experience of managing staff and be outgoing, approachable, personable, presentable and professional in all aspects of their work when they will be representing Luton Town Football Club.
