Stephenson (MK) Trust provides education for students aged between 11 and 18 years who are either attending Stephenson Academy local SEN provision for students with social emotional and mental health needs, or Bridge Academy for students disengaged from, or unable to access mainstream education throughout Milton Keynes for a variety of reasons. We pride ourselves on delivering a quality curriculum, truly individualised to meet the needs of our students, ensuring successful outcomes for all.
BRIDGE ACADEMY WEST
Within the Trust, Bridge Academy West is the centre for students whose medical needs prevent them, for a number of reasons, from accessing mainstream education. The needs of the students referred to this centre are often very complex and include high levels of anxiety, emotional well-being and mental health needs. A significant number undertake part-time timetables as a response to their medical and emotional needs. The centre, within the wider Academy comprising three other sites, was rated as ‘Good’ in all areas by Ofsted in July 2015 and we are looking to continue to grow and develop into a secure outstanding provision for all in the coming years. Bridge Academy West is the ideal environment for dedicated professionals, whose inclusive approach to teaching and learning, and passion for supporting and engaging vulnerable groups, will enable them to work alongside a skilled team, with high standards to positively impact the lives of our young people, nurturing self-confidence, achievement and success.
We require an experienced English Teacher to deliver to a mixed ability KS3 and KS4, mostly high achieving students. This role will include some management responsibilities in deputising for the Assistant Principal. We are looking for an outstanding practitioner, who is dedicated, flexible and professional. Candidates would ideally have significant experience and knowledge of current curriculum developments in English to enable them to adapt their teaching to the needs of this particular group of students. Their passion for inclusion will be clear at all times.
