We are seeking to appoint an outstanding practitioner to the post of Leader of Numeracy. The ideal candidate will lead on the development and implementation of the Academy’s Numeracy Development Plan. You will be expected to provide specialist subject expertise across the curriculum and key stages, including work with our primary phase on transition.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic, innovative and ambitious individual to become a leader and to play an important role in assisting the Head of Mathematics to further raise standards of teaching and learning within the Faculty.
You will join a lively, friendly and supportive team of specialist Maths teachers who have achieved excellent results: 21% A*-A, and 74% A*-C (2014). Due to these results mathematics is very popular at Key Stage 5, which gives you a great opportunity to teach up to the very highest level.
Successful candidates must:
Have a good proven track record in raising attainment and accelerating progress
Be a teacher with consistently ‘Good’ or ‘Outstanding’ classroom practice
Be able to inspire and develop consistent ‘Good or Better’ learning and teaching in others
Able to teach across the full age and ability range at age 11-16, including A-level.
Have high expectations of themselves and others
Be a good communicator with excellent interpersonal skills
Have excellent planning and organisational skills
Have excellent subject knowledge
Be flexible and a good team player
Be a passionate advocate of the subject who contributes effectively to departmental development
Able and willing to make a full contribution to the life of the school
