Job Description
We are the only ones offering multiple sports across a wide variety of venues. We provide professionally run leagues for people who want to play their chosen sport competitively (but not too competitively!) and without hassle.
Working with the relevant governing body all of our leagues will be affiliated with fully qualified referees and umpires. We will provide not only the venue but also all the equipment required as well. The social side of sport is also encouraged. We appeal to players of different sports and of all standards.
The candidate:
We are looking for exceptional sport/project officers that are looking for an exciting and dynamic role in the sports sector. With exceptional organisation and solution finding skills, the successful candidate will plan and run customer led recreational sporting leagues that will achieve the income generation targets for this fast paced and forward thinking organisation. Ideally you will have experience of:
• Managing a team of officials/umpires/volunteers
• Providing high quality recreational sport that appeals to the target customer group
• Marketing directly to customers
• Planning projects with success in driving them market
• Financial management
The role:
The job role mainly consists of the following:
• Find new venues for netball leagues
• Source umpires
• Promote new leagues (in both Netball and other relevant sports)
• Develop existing leagues
• Run the leagues day to day
• Create local/regional relationships to fully engage the public sector sports industry (inc. NGBs, CSPs, LAs and education establishments)
• Explore opportunities to expand the business
This is not exhaustive and other relevant duties may be required to successfully fulfil the role.
Remuneration:
Initially the roles are advertised as part-time (21hrs per week) with the scope to develop the role to full time in consultation with the successful candidates. The fee will be £9 per hour. You should submit monthly time sheets.
In addition, you will receive a bonus calculated as follows:
50% of one week’s match fee after new players/teams have played and paid for 4 weeks (ie £14/£2 bonus per team/player) plus
25% of one week’s match fee for each new season (based on 4 seasons per annum) for existing teams/players plus
Annual bonus of £1000 for hitting targets (to be agreed)
As we discussed, the monthly bonuses will only apply to the extent that the above calculation exceeds £100 in the month.
You are entitled to 28 days holiday per year inclusive of all Bank and Public Holidays (on a pro rata basis).
All offers are subject to the completion of a 3 month probationary period and receipt of satisfactory references. Within the probationary period, the notice period will be one week from either side and thereafter one month.
