Job Description
UCFB Wembley Men’s Football Club are currently seeking 2 coaches to manage our teams in BUCS. Following on from a very positive inaugural year (both teams achieving promotion), the ambition for both teams is to gain successive promotions and improve on performance in the cup competition.
The Club currently trains on Monday evenings and competes on Wednesday afternoons, and any new coach will be expected to commit their time to both these days. Training sessions and home fixtures take place at Silver Jubilee Park, Townsend Lane, Brent, London NW9 7NE. As well as being a great coach, you will be expected to assist the Club in developing off the pitch, with regards to organisation, communication and marketing. Being able to advise and support our students will be a vital part to this role.
We have 2 coaching positions available, with each leading a Men’s team in BUCS. Specific objectives for the roles are as follows:
– Planning and delivery of comprehensive full team coaching session on a Monday night – 5pm-7pm or 7pm-9pm.
– Organisation and management of the relevant team on game days (Wednesdays).
– Lead the technical and tactical direction and delivery of the men’s programme to facilitate the team’s league promotion opportunities.
– Work closely with the Club’s committee to enhance recruitment of students to the Club as whole.
– Work with Club Committee on weekly selection of match day squad.
– Establish performance targets and the criteria used to assess development.
– Growing participation across the whole Club.
– Provide training and playing environment that adapts to both beginners and experienced players.
– Assist with the growth of the game with the institution by increasing participation.
Generic Responsibilities:
– Ensure sessions are planned and actively engage in training sessions as per agreement with UCFB Sport to ensure continued player and Club development.
– Inform UCFB Sport of any known absences or difficulties with attendance with a minimum of 2 weeks’ notice (exception to the notice period being emergencies).
– Consult with Club Committee in regards to any issues that may arise.
– Work with UCFB Sport and the Club Committee to help assist in guiding the committee and recruiting a new committee each year.
– Support UCFB Sport in ensuring attendance is recorded every week at every training session.
– Support UCFB Sport with the governance of Membership checks on a weekly basis.
– Adhere at all times to terms set out in the UCFB Sport code of conduct.
– Follow UCFB Sport incident reporting procedure.
– Fully aware of their sports specific risk assessment and implement as necessary.
– Work towards agreed targets set out at the start of the academic year.
Required Attributes:
– Applicants should hold a minimum of FA Level 2 Coaching qualification – UEFA B license is preferred.
– Previous experience of coaching senior Football teams is essential.
– The Club are looking for a coach with vision, drive and ambition.
– Experience of setting clear goals, targets, measures and implementing action plans.
– Commitment and Enthusiasm – This position will require a time commitment involving evenings and weekdays.
– Football Knowledge – It is expected that the Coach will have the required level of knowledge to enable the players to achieve their potential.
