Job Description
To organise and deliver coaching to the University of Derby
Netball development side.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
1) Work with the Head coach to develop and deliver effective club training and individual skill development sessions on a weekly basis for the third and fourth teams in the club
2) Deliver fun, social and inclusive sessions that are suitable for all levels as well as ensuring they are adequately preparing the players for fixtures and competitions, including the fresher’s trial process
3) To act as a positive and professional role model at all times, displaying good coaching conduct and promoting an enjoyable, motivating and inclusive atmosphere which upholds the ethos of Team Derby
4) Provide feedback to players for developmental purposes
5) To support and promote the development of the club, helping to meet its aims and objectives, and liaising with Team Derby, the Committee, Athletic Union President and staff on future development requirements
6) To work with the county sport and NGB to feedback and update the club with relevant developments in the sport
7) To be responsible for the safety of all participants during training/matches, ensuring the safe use of equipment by adhering to the Health & Safety guidelines of University facilities
8) To act in accordance with the coach code of practice and NGB guidelines
9) Report any accidents/incidents in accordance with University of Derby Health and Safety guidelines
10) To abide by the University Equal opportunities policy at all times
11) Attend and contribute to regular Coach Development Reviews during the season
12) To successfully implement club objectives set out within their development plans to ensure that annual progression occurs in line with the strategic direction of sport at the institution
13) Any other duties appropriate to the role, as directed by Team Derby

Experience Required:
– Minimum Level 2 NGB qualification
– Previous relevant coaching experience
– Underpinning knowledge of sport
– Technical and practical skills and knowledge as required
– Track record of achievements
