One Albion Disability Coach – The Albion Foundation – Sandwell

Job Description
The Albion Foundation (Community Programme of WBA FC) is looking for a highly motivated disability sports coach that will become part of a very successful One Albion Disability Team. The One Albion programme delivers to a wide range of disabled participants and SEN children and inspires to change lives through sport. It’s vital that the appointed coach has knowledge of a number of disability areas so they can offer support to our participants and deliver adapted sessions to bring about the most success alongside fun and enjoyment. The programme is aimed at increasing self-esteem, developing confidence and increasing physical activity levels of disabled athletes and SEN pupils across the local area with the appointed candidate developing strategies to enable this. One Albion offers a full range of sporting activities but does host through its Sporting Club Albion (SCA) Teams 16 disability football teams, including Powerchair, Blind, Visually Impaired, PAN disability and Downs Syndrome Teams. The appointed coach will be asked to lead on a number of these teams, coaching them each week and attending either regional or national fixtures with them throughout the season. SCA enables disabled footballers to reach their full potential and play at either recreational or national level with support from the One Albion Programme. The ideal candidate will also be able to deliver within our Disability Development Centres where young disabled footballers will participate each week within their specific impairment groups.
