Job Description
Star Hotshots are recruiting for a Physical Education and Sport Manager to run and manage our team of enthusiastic, experienced Ofsted-approved teachers and coaches. We deliver a range of sport and activity opportunities for children and young people and currently offer the following programmes:
• School Holiday Multi Sports Camps
• Sports Birthday Parties for children aged 3 – 12 years old
• Performance Camps
Star Hotshots programmes are managed and designed by Harvey Grout. Harvey is the owner of Star Hotshots and is the PGCE Subject Leader for Physical Education for the University of Reading. He is also the co author of ‘Improving Teaching and Learning in Physical Education’. Harvey is very passionate that young children receive high quality sports provision by suitably qualified and enthusiastic staff and the new appointment will be responsible for ensuring the excellent reputation Star Hotshots has created, since launching 14 years ago, is maintained and extended to a wider area.
The role of the Physical Education and Sport Manager includes the delivery of sports coaching and teaching to children of all abilities and we are looking for someone who can manage and inspire our team of teachers and coaches as well as deliver fun and energetic activities for children aged 3 – 13 years.
Please note some weekend work will be required and holiday is encouraged (but not restricted) to be taken during term time rather than school holidays so please consider this when applying.
Key Responsibilities
• Deliver a range of services to primary school age children in local schools & communities
• Manage the holiday camps to ensure a fun and energetic service is delivered by your team in line with Star Hotshots standards.
• Ensure Star Hotshots provide a safe and secure environment for children at all times.
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with parents, children and school staff.
• Develop and maintain accurate planning, ensuring all administration work is completed.
Skills and Qualifications
• Degree in Sports Coaching or Physical Education or equivalent.
• Ability to bring ideas and creativeness to the company.
• Be reliable and enthusiastic
• Be able to relate to and engage with children between the ages of 3 – 14.
• Able to build strong relationships with parents, schools and partners.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills are essential.
Pediatric First Aid, Child Protection/Safeguarding and DBS qualifications/certificates must be in place before any delivery can take place. You must be able to drive and have access to a car.
