Physiotherapist – Brentford Football Club

Job Description
Brentford FC are looking to recruit a physiotherapist to predominately work within the new B Team structure as well as supporting the First Team medical staff. Previous experience working within an elite sport MDT is desirable
The aim of the Brentford B Team is to create the most effective pathway into the first team of all English clubs. This will be achieved by identifying athletes that fit the Brentford style of play and culture by using the most innovative and thorough methods available. The B Team is a key component of the club’s promotion strategy.
The Medical and Performance department are a key component of the B Team set up, working alongside the football and logistic staff to produce a well-rounded footballer and athlete. The purpose of the medical and performance department is to develop a self-managing athlete in order to maximise performance as an individual, and as a team.
Please note the successful applicant is required to undergo an enhanced DBS check

Key Responsibilities:
• Assist with the current screening process to ensure it mirrors that of the first team, and is acted on within a timely manner
• To diagnose and treat the injured players
• To provide therapeutic input to improve the fit players and minimise their time lost due to injury
• Devise and manage rehabilitation/treatment plans
• Produce up-to-date high quality medical notes onto the club’s computerised database
• Evaluate effectiveness of rehabilitation/treatment programmes
• To work with other members of the Medical team to provide a holistic approach to the treatment and prevention of injury
• To contribute to the team’s internal continual professional development
• To contribute to the medical input into players on specified matches and all training sessions

Main Job Requirements and Person Specification
Education/Qualifications/Training
• Obtained a BSc in Physiotherapy / Post-graduate MSc Physiotherapy (pre-reg)
• A current membership of the Health Professions Council or equivalent body
• Post graduate qualification within sport and exercise medicine or a related field of study would be advantageous

Specific Experience
• Previous experience of working with elite level athletes and treating sporting injuries
• Experience of working in a team environment
• Extensive experience in planning and delivering advanced rehabilitation programmes in elite athletes
• Extensive and advanced CPD education with particular reference to the sports medicine field
