Job Description
Attend 2x training sessions per week to include the clinical assessment and treatment of any injured players
Effective diagnosis of injury and creation of management plans to ensure appropriate return to full fitness where possible
liaison with the players/ coaches regarding injury status and progression within and outside of training hours
First aid and emergency care cover for training night sessions
Provide comprehensive strapping/ load modification techniques to allow participation in training for players who may otherwise could not have performed training
Treatments to include strength and conditioning session to individual players returning from injury to ensure risk of re-injury is limited
Issuing personal strength and conditioning plans to fit players who are interested/ it has been highlighted progressions in fitness needs to be made
Provide neuromuscular warm up sessions to ensure players are ready for performance of training and injury risks are reduced
Provide strength and conditioning sessions during pre- season/ during the full season. Ensuring progressions are based on principles of progressive overload to ensure effective performance gains whilst minimising injury risk
Provide pre-season screening assessments based on injury audit data from the RFU/ the club to target commonly injured structures.
Provide match day pre warm up strapping/ performance preparation work
Provide advanced sports trauma management / first aid management on a match day for home and away games unless otherwise arranged
liaise with local G.Ps/ consultants regarding players injury status to ensure effective secondary care e.g. x rays/ specialist consultant clinics/ potential surgical work.
