Salary £17133 to £19978 PA which is dependent on qualifications and experience.
Term Time + 3 weeks (with some evenings by arrangement) – 37 Hours per week.
Required as soon as possible, a dedicated and student focused individual for the position of Post 16 Study Supervisor.
This position has a particular emphasis on Post 16 students’ attainment and progress and includes the following duties / responsibilities:
To liaise with Head of 6th Form regarding the progress or underachievement of students.
To register, follow up and monitor the attendance of all identified students within 6th form study lessons, including spread sheets / sanctions /contact home / logging on Sims database.
To support interventions with supervised Year 12/13 students within the 6th Form study areas.
To ensure students’ work is completed and records kept to inform of progress in each subject.
To liaise with teachers of the identified students to ensure adequate work is provided to support progress, on an on-going basis.
To motivate and help students to understand the importance of success and how it impacts on their future.
To ensure adequate resources are available for students through liaison with Head of 6th Form and teaching staff to include text, exam paper, mark scheme, booklets etc.
To provide a positive and welcoming environment where students feel supported in their studies.
To maintain the students’ progress board based at least half termly, based upon current data and available tracking information.
Maintain and advise on mechanisms to improve the study environment for the students.
Support Parents’ Evenings and relevant after school events by prior arrangement.
Ensure students maintain a tidy work environment and report any damage.
Support students with their Higher Project Qualifications and Extended Project Qualifications.
Support students with UCAS applications.
Attend and support Year 12 and Year 13 Parent Consultation Evenings.
Attend and support Into The 6th Evening.
Attend and support GCSE Results’ Day and 6th Form Enrolments.
To undertake First Aid Training and maintain this certification.
Participate in any relevant training as required.
Implement all school policies and procedures.
Any other duties as may be assigned within the level of the post by the Principal or Head of 6th Form.
Applicants must be educated to at least A Level or equivalent, have relevant experience in a school or other educational setting and have an interest in teaching and learning/study skills.
