Job Description
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of rugby at Ysgol John Bright and its cluster schools. The successful applicant will promote the development and playing of the game of rugby union football within the school. Maximising participation in extra curricular rugby for all students. Deliver the WRU ruby curriculum that caters for all abilities.
Under the management of the Head of PE;
*deliver all elements of the rugby programme
*complement the work of teachers by taking responsibility for rugby activities, specifically the playing and coaching opportunities for pupils in extracurricular time, of all forms of the game.
*deliver the WRU Leaders Award and manage the deployment of qualified leaders within the school, feeder schools and local clubs.
*agree growth/participation provision targets
* establish a successful link with the designated local rugby club/s (as directed by the WRU Regional Rugby Manager) and coordinate the transfer of players from the Ysgol John Bright and feeder schools to such clubs;
*deliver continued Professional Development programmes within designated clubs and feeder schools in line with the WRU coach and referee strategic plan and collate numbers attending these CPD events;
*promote the WRU and it’s work with the school;
*prioritise participation in WRU sanctioned competitions and adhere to the WRU seasonal rugby structure;
*adhere to the WRU playing and coaching philosophy at each appropriate age;
*deliver the WRU physical and skill development programmes
*adhere to the WRU Performance KPIs at senior school level (u18); and
*regularly utilise the ‘MyWRU’ website
