Job Description
The Windsor School Sport Partnership is based at The Windsor Boys’ School, and is a part of the Windsor Learning Partnership. Our primary focus is to support, develop, deliver and strategically lead Physical Education and School Sport development for our partner first, primary, middle and upper schools in Windsor.
At the Windsor School Sport Partnership we constantly look to improve the experience of those young people involved in our events, projects and programmes. This role will put you at the heart of the school, working closely with national partners including the Youth Sport Trust, Sport England, Get Berkshire Active and key National Governing Bodies. You will play a key role in helping us build a successful and dynamic Physical Education and School Sport Service. For the right person this is a unique opportunity to develop their knowledge of the structure and delivery of multiple sports competitions, deliver high quality creative work in an educational environment and build a solid understand of the current sporting landscape.

School Sport Officer/Coach Details:
This is either a full time or part time School Sport Officer/Coach position starting from September 2019, initially for a one year fixed term contract. The successful candidate will be required to work in the Windsor School Sport Partnership offices based at The Windsor Boys’ School, Monday to Friday (Term Time Only), and across a range of schools in Windsor coaching predominately in First and Primary Schools. The School Sport Coach will receive one to one mentoring with experienced professionals, opportunities to access high quality professional development and career guidance if desired. We are looking for someone who has experience in coaching young people in at least two different sports, with a multi-skill approach. They will need a minimum of two level 2 coaching qualifications. It is essential that you have a full clean driving licence and are willing to drive as part of the role.

Responsibilities:
Specifics: The successful candidate will primarily be coaching and supporting teachers in schools across a range of sports, and will therefore need to be competent at delivering high quality lessons. They will also require excellent computer skills especially in MS Excel and MS Word. Attention to detail will be essential, a clear understanding of the need to be professional at all times and be highly organised, excellent at forming relationships with teachers and other professionals. The partnership is a creative organisation therefore you will be expected to be passionate about sport and the opportunities that it can offer young people to develop. The successful candidate should be willing to undertake a variety of sports administration tasks with a focus on delivering Windsor’s commitment for the 2019-20 competition calendar and coaching/teaching in schools across a range of sports. After your initial induction and training, your role is likely to include the following responsibilities:
Supporting the core team in delivering the annual competition calendar. Coaching and/or teaching across a range of sports in the Windsor Schools for approximately 75 – 80% of the week, predominately in the Primary sector
Assisting in the planning and delivery of the Sports Leaders’ programme.
Supporting the partnership in effectively deploying Sports Leaders across Windsor in both educational and community based settings
Assisting in the promotion of all Windsor School Sport Partnership events including liaison with local media organisations
Assist and support in keeping our Web-site up to date.
