Background
Applications are invited for two Senior Lectureships in Journalism to teach principally on the BJTC-accredited BA (Hons) Multimedia Journalism.
The programme sits within the School of Media, Art and Design, which has an excellent quality rating and a tradition of integrating practice with theory and creativity with professionalism. The School has grown strongly in recent years, increased the professional content and relevance of its programmes, developed its links with employers and strengthened its research base. The Role
Responsible to the Head of School you will teach journalism practice and theory, engage in research and knowledge transfer and undertake administrative and pastoral duties as required.
Requirements
You will hold a good honours degree and have substantial professional experience as a journalist in the UK including at least TWO of online, print, television or radio journalism. You will also hold a higher degree in a relevant subject OR have equivalent professional seniority and experience. A strategy for personal research development and an ability to motivate and enthuse students and work closely in a small team are essential. A professional journalism qualification would be an advantage.
