    Job Purpose
The Sports & Engagement Coordinator is passionate about sports and will use this in post to increase participation and engagement among young people. The primary aim of this post is to deliver support, mentoring and coaching sessions to registered students who are signed up to one of our Education Courses. The role will entail supporting the tutor in the delivery of the course both in the classroom environment and also in fulfilling the practical elements of the course. The Sports & Engagement Coordinator will require; planning and delivery of multi-sport activities including football/basketball, supporting the delivery of the BTEC/NVQ qualifications, playing a pivotal role in mentoring, supporting the life skills programme and aiding retention of learners on the course. Working with the tutor and the framework of our programmes the planned outcome is to graduate young people, aid their self-development and assist each one to find their own progression path.

    Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
• To ensure that all coaching sessions are planned and delivered to a high standard.
• To assist the tutoring of the qualifications and occasionally deliver aspects of the qualifications.
• To assist the marking and assessment of the learners work and where necessary support those who need extra help by offering 1 to 1 guidance.
• To support the participation, retention and progression of learners in their courses and to encourage learners to pursue further education, training or employment on finishing the course.
• Liaise with staff members and create relationships with other organisations to produce friendly fixtures.
• To recruit young people to take part in the course, both from existing leads and from creating a network of referral agencies as well as local outreach. To network regularly in the local area and positively promote partnership work.
• To attend and engage in all relevant staff meetings, and maintain effective communication with staff, learners and other relevant educational organisations.
• To undertake training and CPD as necessary and relevant to the post.
• During times when centres are not operational to contribute to the organisation as a whole and assist with provision outside of the department where necessary.
• To be familiar with the LMP Code of Conduct and all operational, Health & Safety, Child Protection and Data Protection policies.
• To attend departmental and office meetings as required.

    Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
The Sports and Education Coordinator must have a passion for working with young people, and be committed to raising standards, be reliable, enthusiastic and motivated. They must possess excellent communication, teamwork, leadership, ICT and management skills and be able to build and sustain effective working relationships with staff, parents and the wider community. Knowledge of the IV and EV process is desirable.

   Education and Experience
• Minimum of a Level 2 Coaching Award in any sport (preferably football).
• 3 or more years of Coaching Experience working with a variety of aged groups including 16 plus.
• Experience of delivering training and working in diverse community and/or sports settings.
• Experience of working with young people who are hard to engage with.

    Work Environment
Your work environment for the nature of this role is the education centre that we are operating out of at any given time. Your role will include working from the LMP head office and any other places that we are doing education delivery from. During holiday periods this will extend to working on additional programmes not related to Education Department.

    Abbreviated Terms & Conditions
Salary Starting salary of TBC per annum.

    Location London

Working Hours 40 hours per week. Monday – Friday, 9am-6pm with 1 hour paid lunch break but working outside of these hours is likely to be required to fulfil this role.

Annual Leave 20 days per year. This increases by 1 day every year. Plus UK public holidays.

Contract Period The post is offered on a rolling contract.

Probation The appointment is subject to the satisfactory completion of a six- month probationary period.
