Road Transport Media Ltd is looking for a lay-out/ sub-editor to join its art and production team. The team is responsible for producing the weekly publication Commercial Motor, the fortnightly publication Motor Transport, and its digital edition, as well as the new digital monthly publication Van Advisor.
The sub-editor will work closely with the production editor and chief sub-editor to ensure that we deliver our core multi-platform publications to deadline and to the highest of standards.
Key skills and responsibilities:
Demonstrate experience in CS5.5 including InDesign, with experience in Illustrator and Photoshop, as well as CMS.
Responsible for fact checking all copy produced by the Road Transport Media content team, editing it for length and grammatical accuracy.
Responsible for maintaining the style and tone of three distinct publications targeted at different audiences.
Excellent and transferable proof-reading skills and ability to write catchy headlines, stand-firsts and captions. Our products carry everything from business and financial news to vehicle road tests and in-depth technical reports.
Knowledge of current media law is essential as our publications regularly publish reports on tribunals and court cases as well as legislative guidance and advice.
Experience of B2B publishing and working as part of a busy art and production team is preferable but not essential.
