Teacher of Chemistry – The Latymer School – Enfield

Students at Latymer, a co-educational grammar school, attain the highest educational standards. Visitors comment on impressive academic achievements, the warmth of the atmosphere and the level of participation in extra-curricular activities. The last OFSTED inspection, quoting a parent, said: “..this is what education is all about.”

We are seeking to appoint a teacher of Chemistry to join this friendly department, who would enjoy working with highly-motivated and intellectually-curious students at all levels.

The Science Department is well organised and resourced and provides a supportive working atmosphere for staff.  Chemistry is a popular option at A’ level, each with 5 groups at AS and 4 at A2.  The most recent results in 2014 had both GCSE A*/A and A ‘level A*-B near 80%.

The AQA Triple Science course is followed at GCSE and classes are taught by subject specialists from Year 9.  All lessons are taught in modern laboratories.

If you would like to work in a friendly environment, with guaranteed A level teaching (tailored to what you can offer), then we would like to hear from you.
Deadline for applications: 10.00am Monday, 22nd June 2015

The Latymer School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people.  We expect all staff to share this commitment.  Any offer of employment is subject to a satisfactory ‘Enhanced with a Barred List Check’ through the Disclosure and Barring Service.
