Temporary for one year in the first instance
Dronfield Henry Fanshawe School is a successful, oversubscribed, high attaining school with 1784 students on roll including 313 in the sixth form. It is situated close to the centres of Sheffield and Chesterfield on the edge of the Peak District National Park. The Governors are seeking to appoint a well-qualified, committed and enthusiastic drama specialist to join a successful and well-motivated team. The successful applicant will be required to teach across all Key stages. The ability to teach other creative subjects such as film studies or art would be an advantage.
We are seeking to appoint a person who:
is an outstanding and innovative classroom practitioner
has the vision and imagination to add to the considerable strengths of the faculty
has a good working knowledge of strategies for increasing progress and achievement at all levels
may be an NQT looking for an exciting new post or an ambitious colleague looking for career development
enjoys working with other practitioners in related disciplines as part of the creative arts faculty
can make a contribution to extra-curricular work of the faculty
can inspire our students and act as a role model for young people.
We were identified as an Ofsted Good Practice School for school improvement (September 2012) and our CPD has been judged to be outstanding (CPD Mark 2012). All staff may enjoy the benefits of our Associate Leadership Programme.
Due to this post having access to children and/or vulnerable adults, candidates will be required to undertake a Criminal Record Check. The possession of a criminal record will not necessarily prevent an applicant from obtaining this post, as all cases are judged individually according to the nature of the role and information provided.
Application packs are available from Claire Burgin (cburgin@dronfield.derbyshire.sch.uk) at the above address or from the school website. Please apply directly to the school, for the attention of the Headteacher.
Closing Date for above post: Midnight 19th April 2015
