Experience of electronic/electrical engineering may be an advantage
The Trust are seeking to appoint a confident and dynamic teacher of engineering who is able to enthuse and motivate students to achieve their best. The post holder will be responsible for teaching their specialism across both Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5. They shall also be able to offer a much wider subject value to match the holistically planned project based learning delivered across Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5 through our employer challenges.
The successful candidate will be energetic, dynamic, flexible and passionate about making learning exciting and enjoyable. They shall have vision and an ability to plan, maintain and develop outstanding teaching and learning. We are looking for an innovative and highly motivated practitioner with sound subject knowledge to join us in providing opportunities for all students to make outstanding progress from the moment they join the UTC. You will be a positive role model for students and be an ambassador for the UTC in the community, sub-regions and region.
Wigan UTC Academy provides new opportunities for 14-19 year olds to participate in a dynamic and outstanding educational experience encompassing real, relevant workplace practices. In partnership with world class companies students gain access to educational pathways which include further education, higher education, higher level apprenticeships and employment.
Together with its business partners, such as The Ainscough Group, Siemens and Murr Elektronik, the UTC specialises in engineering and environmental technologies. Our state of the art facilities include a process hall for food manufacturing and the world’s first elevated vertical farm system in an urban environment. Combined with business, enterprise and entrepreneurship the UTC promotes innovative research and development within these specialisms.
