Teacher of Photography & Art – The Beacon School – Surrey

We are seeking an excellent Teacher of A level Photography, from September, to inspire our students and achieve strong and creative outcomes. The subject is very popular and students achieve well above their target grades. The department is well-resourced with dark room, studio and camera equipment. The role will include the teaching of Art at Key Stages 3 and 4, where, once again, students achieve highly in a supportive and dynamic department.

There is a possibility of a TLR for a whole school responsibility, leading potential high achievers or disadvantaged students. This is an important role and gives opportunity for strong career development.

The school has developed academic express streams, a strong house system and aim higher programmes. All students take part in enrichment activities and there are many opportunities for student trips and events. The school offers a two week October half term. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a school that focuses relentlessly on raising standards and invests in the development of both staff and students. Ofsted judged the school as ‘Good’ in October 2012 and we are determined to be judged ‘Outstanding’ at our next inspection.

For an informal discussion about the post, please call Paul Cuthbert, Vice Principal, on 07545 696376 or apply in writing to Ms L Croke, Principal.
