Teacher of Physics – The King Edward VI Sheldon Heath Academy – Birmingham

King Edward VI Sheldon Heath Academy is sponsored by, and in partnership with, the King Edward VI Foundation, Birmingham. The Academy is a successful and forward thinking educational community, committed to developing responsible, aspirational, independent, happy and well-rounded young people with the self-belief to reach their goals. We work to secure this through inspirational and enthusiastic teaching, the provision of a broad, challenging curriculum and excellent support and care. Our work is underpinned by our core values and driven by our unequivocal belief in equality and tolerance.

We seek a confident, creative and enthusiastic teacher to contribute fully to the future development of Physics, Science, and the Academy. Results are very good with 96% of students achieving A*-C in Physics GCSE in August 2015. Physics is a very popular subject at KS4 and post 16, therefore you must be able to teach Physics at A Level. To be successful, you will have the capacity to raise attainment through motivating and inspiring students and will help foster a culture of high expectations and achievement within the respective departments.

The Academy is a vibrant and exciting place to be. We have a superb group of staff and amazing students. We are committed to ensuring every child reaches their full potential – both academically and socially. We were judged as “Good” by our last Ofsted and have recently moved into a brand new £26m building with state of the art facilities.

This is clearly a very exciting time to join us:

Students have high aspirations and are motivated to achieve their personal best.
Results are good and students aspire to continue their studies in our Sixth Form.
A supportive, cohesive and very purposeful environment, where colleagues are well motivated and work collaboratively to ensure that every child reaches their full potential.
High quality facilities with excellent resources and access to the latest technology.
A competitive salary for the right candidate.
Excellent opportunities for career progression and continuous professional development.
A TLR might be available for the right candidate.
