Plater/Welder (structural steel)

Location: Portsmouth
A successful UK Specialist Steel contractor who focus on fabrication and construction of heavy steel structures are currently recruiting for a highly skilled Plater / Welder. Typical steelwork in the fabrication shop will be I beams (girders) that may require burning/cutting and plates/cleats to be positioned and welded as per drawings. Other steelwork sections will include flats, CHS,RHS, etc. Finished items will be structural columns, floor beams, rafters, bracing etc.

Plater/Welder duties:
-Read and work to CAD produced fabrication drawings.
-Position and weld up any plates/cleats as indicated on the drawings.
-Add notches/burn holes as required.

Plater/Welder requirements:
-You should be a time served plater/welder/fabricator.
-You should have experience working on heavy structural steel beams etc.
-Be reliable and looking for a permanent on the books position based in Portsmouth.

Very competitive hourly rates – negotiable dependent on experience plus overtime is available
