Purpose of the role: Southend United Community and Educational Trust is looking for a passionate and committed Education tutor to support the delivery of our successful BTEC Sports programme at Southend United Football Club, in partnership with League Football Education (LFE).
The successful applicant will lead the planning, preparation and delivery of the Pearson BTEC Level 2 Diploma in Sports Industry skills (Leading Children’s Sports Activities) and the Pearson BTEC National Level 3 Extended Certificate in Sports Coaching Foundation Diploma, Diploma and Extended Diploma in Sports Coaching and Development to 16–19-year-olds.
The successful applicant will use the power of football and the brand of Southend United to deliver the highest possible standards. The Education tutor will be working in an established department within a successful teaching team, to maintain and increase pupil attainment and contribute to the overall success of the pupils. They will ensure all learners are completing assignments in line with assessment plan deadlines, use online platforms (EMS) to assess and mark learners work and provide detailed feedback.

To be considered for this role, you will need to meet the following criteria:

Skills, Knowledge and Experience
– Hold a relevant teaching qualification (PTLLS, CTLLS, DTLLS,
PGCE, Cert Ed).
– Degree (Desirable)
– Assessor award (Desirable)
– Hold a minimum of a Level 2 qualification in Sport
– Have recent experience of delivering BTEC Sports qualifications
(Desirable)
– A DBS Certificate that is on the update service or be willing to apply for one
– Car and Full UK driving licence is essential.

Additional Skills, Knowledge and Experience
– Qualifications in Maths and English Levels 4-9 (GCSE Grades A-C) or equivalent.
– A high level of competence in using IT and databases, including Microsoft Office
