Job Purpose:
To support the delivery of a high quality learning experience within the floristry and allied aspects of the college’s provision. To work effectively with other professionals within this respect and to be a good ambassador for the college.
Reports to: Head of Department – Countryside, Horticulture, Arboriculture & Floral Design
Grade/Salary: £10,488 per annum (£17,480 per annum pro rata) which is scale point 1a on the Academic Staff Salary Scale
Hours: 22.2 hours per week, Monday – Friday with flexibility to meet business needs
Status: Permanent. Term-Time only position may be available for the right candidate.
Vision: For this role,
we are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated academic person to support the dynamic and innovative floristry department. You will work closely with the Deputy Head of Horticulture, Floristry, Countryside and Arboriculture and fellow academic staff to ensure we provide the learning experience our students expect. Applicants will need good organisational skills to ensure the efficient supply of fresh flowers and other resources for a busy academy area. The person will be a confident, knowledgeable, able to enthuse others and help develop their practical skills. Programmes will include recreational, level two, level three and level four courses. An understanding of budgeting and purchasing stock and materials would be of an advantage.
