This is a varied role
and as such a talented candidate is required to be able to cover all aspects, in conjuction with my client I have created a list of the main requirements but this is by no means an exhaustive list of the potential tasks:-
Repair and testing of site pumps, valves, pressure and associated equipment.
Maintaining records of same
General site and buildings maintenance
Overseeing maintenance contracts
Keeping of accurate and up to date records
Supervision of contractors when on site (via Permit to Work procedures)
Support site operators and operations manager with regular safety checks and calibrations in line with routine planned maintenance.
Specifying and ordering maintenance spares and consumables.
Develop and manage a Preventative Maintenance Plan for the depot.
Managing all aspects of the plant
In order to be successful in this role we feel a suitable candidate needs to have performed a general engineering role on a busy distribution site and whilst that distribution site does not need to have been chemical distribution, that sort of knowledge could naturally be an advantage. Experience in liquid process engineering would be an important skill to posess, again this can be from an FMCG bacground or from something more closely related to chemicals etc. Of more definite “must-have” type skills we really need a candidate to have the ability to both plastic and metal weld as this is a regular task, good electo/mechanical skills are an absolute essential and are very much the main the
requirement for this important role.
Being a keen problem solver and always challenging yourself to find the root of the problem is important for this role, its a modern site and they pride themselves on keeping it in excellent repair, therefore a proper-fix rather than make-do-and-mend is always their priority for this very house-proud organisation. Strong diagnostic skills covering both mechanical and electrical discipline are important in this search.
Our candidate will very much manage their own workload, so a good head for prioritising work and good organsisation skills to ensure nothing every falls off the to-do list are important. As with all roles like this these days there will some level of reporting involved so a good grasp of the basic Microsoft products (Excel & Word) are also essential. It would also be desirable for a candidate to have experience with Piranha / shire PPM system but not essential
This is a really
good employer, I have recruited for them for nearly 10 years, they have a stable leadership team and an excellent brand. The culture, from my longstanding observations, is one of mutual respect, pride of their brand and a good level of cameraderie in there too. They offer good benefits and always above average levels of pay. For this role we are looking to offer candidates in the region of £33k to £36k a year
