We are looking for a User Researcher who will make an impact in the exciting new arena of developing digital services for the UK Government. Better digital services in government will change the face of public services and have the potential to dramatically transform the future of millions of people.
You will be expected to hit the ground running, working in agile multidisciplinary team environments, focused on the Department for Work and Pensions’ digital transformation of its services.
You will have excellent analytical and problem solving skills and a proven track record in user research. You will be adept at weighing up evidence from various (and potentially conflicting) sources, and have a flair for devising innovative and creative approaches to generating new user evidence.
The role is to generate new and useful insight in relation to DWP’s users, in support of its Digital Transformation agenda. The post holder will conduct user research and generate findings to shape the development of new digital services and iteratively improve the experience for users.
User Researchers work within a wider team of Designers, Analysts and Developers, promoting user-centred design principles, in order to produce a responsive digital service.
You will be experienced in using a variety of user research methodologies to reveal actionable insights and build a rich picture of customers and other user groups. You will have strong analytical and problem solving skills, and the ability to quickly develop recommendations based on quantitative and qualitative evidence. You will need to be confident in explaining user needs to colleagues, and acting as a persuasive advocate for those needs both within the team and the department at large.
