Requirements
Essential qualifications and experience:
confirmed administrative experience, including drawing up and handling budgets;
computer literacy with experience of databases, communications platforms and all Microsoft Office products, particularly MS Excel and MS Word;
excellent organisational skills and ability to complete a wide range of tasks simultaneously to a high standard;
excellent problem-solving skills and a confirmed ability to engage with a wide range of partners;
attention to detail and an ability to communicate clearly and concisely; attention to detail and an ability to

ability to work in a busy environment and think on your feet; and an
ability to use your initiative and handle multiple priorities.
Desirable skills and experience:
an interest in international law, human rights or a related field;
educated to degree level;
experience of working in government, non-profit or international organisations sector; and

Key responsibilities:
Events
We regularly host events in London and globally. As Administrator, you will play a role in delivering one of our key functions. You will:
assist with the organisation of partner meetings, roundtables, panel discussions and conferences;
provide logistical support, such as booking flights and hotels;
provide on-the-day support during events to programme staff, associate fellows and external participants;
prepare agendas, minutes and reports for events.
Communications
We design and strategically deliver communications related to our research. You will help to develop the programme’s communications plans, by:
assisting in drafting and sending our quarterly newsletter, including providing feedback for improvements;
maintaining and monitor programme media relations and publicity activities on a range of channels; and
sending publication updates to our networks.
Publications support
You will assist with delivering the programme’s substantive research outputs by:
liaising with authors and editors on substantive research outputs;
handling the publications schedule;
checking references and plagiarism reports; and
assisting with initial edits of publications.
Database management
You will have responsibilities for maintaining the programme’s databases; additionally, contact management will be a key part of the Administrator role. You will be responsible for:
updating and improving programme contacts;
building and maintaining mailing lists and event profiles; and
developing and monitoring the team’s use of the database and, where necessary, running database training for other programme staff.
Administration and finance
You will provide general administrative support to the team. Your other administrative duties include:
serving as the programme’s point of contact on a number of internal working groups and general liaison with other teams at the institute;
maintaining project budgets and existing financial systems;
maintaining project and programme files;
handling the programme’s systems, including post and courier services and processing purchase and sales invoices;
organising travel and meetings for programme staff and associate fellows; and
taking and maintaining internal meeting notes.
