Boreham Wood Football Club is seeking an enthusiastic, hardworking and committed individual or individuals to work within the busy Medical Department during the 2016/2017 Season. Boreham Wood run the largest and most successful Football Education Scheme for 16-19 year olds in the United Kingdom and after securing their place for a second season the Senior Squad will play in the National League.
This is a great opportunity for a Sports Therapy/Sports Rehabilitation student or recent graduate to expand on their current knowledge and develop new skills within a growing Medical Department of a National League Club.
The successful candidate will be expected to help with the day-to-day running of the Medical Department, assist the Medical Team with Match Day Medical Care, Pre and Post Match Massage and Soft Tissue Therapy and the implementation of Rehabilitation Programs to our PASE Academy players.
This role will allow the Therapist to practically enhance their skills during training sessions, drop in Injury Clinics and Matches. There will also be an opportunity to work with the Development and First Team Squads during the season. The successful candidate(s) will be expected to work a long side the Coaching and Medical Team’s at the club and report to the Head of Medical weekly.
This position is not on a full time basis and is unlikely to include weekend work, hours can also be flexible (to be discussed further at interview). We would look to whenever possible fit this job around existing further study or work but we would ask for the same commitment and professionalism as any other job. However, where possible we would ask that Wednesdays would be a day that you can commit to as this is our busiest Academy day
Essential
• Current First Aid Certificate.
• Minimum final year of relevant degree (second year students may be considered dependant on skill set and experience).
• Good time management and communication skills.
Desirable
• Previous experience within sporting environment.
• Full UK Driving license.
• Insurance with relevant provider.
